Around the House Saturdays - Recycled Home Edition

Baskets and Boxes and Crates - OH MY!
You all know how much the Hubby and I are infatuated with re-purposing various antique items. Well, I thought I would do another recycled home version of my "Around the House Saturdays" post. We've recently come across some really great storage items that are just waiting to find new homes within our home. This first item is an old food crate that the Hubby found at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago. It's absolutely amazing. Once our new bookshelves are complete, we plan on putting in on the bottom shelf and filling it with magazines. These crates are also great for hanging on the wall and being used as wall shelves for various knick-knacks.The next items were given to us by our friend Theresa. Her mom has a basement loaded with antique stuff that she's trying to get rid of. We plan on heading over there as soon as we can borrow a truck so we can haul some of the bigger stuff.
For right now, we have an apple basket and some fun wooden hat boxes. The basket will be great for storing quilts...but not I'm not quite sure what to do with the hat boxes yet... Any ideas on the hat boxes?

Those are really great finds. I love putting sewing notions and art supplies in hat boxes. Then you can store them neatly on a shelf and get to them easily when needed. No matter, what a fun find. Have a happy holiday weekend!
