I Love Old Stuff

One of the things that we were looking most forward to on our vacation was the opportunity to do some major antiquing. And after finding the book Recycled Home our eyes were opened in a completely new way as trekked through the various antique stores in Virginia and North Carolina. Here are just a few items that were scattered about...
The outside of this one antique mall was loaded with goodies...too bad we didn't have any room to take any of these old windows with us.

Virginia is known for peanuts, so of course on our drive down to North Carolina, we had to make a stop at this store to get shelled peanuts. They made great snacks for sitting on the beach.

And these are more photos of the the wonderful antique store in North Carolina that specializes in stained glass windows from Victorian homes. You can see more pics of this beautiful place in this post.

Overall, we found some really great treasures that we can't wait to put around home once we've finished redecorating our bedroom. A lot of the goodies we found are going to be perfect in there.

Good Food+Good People=Great Fun

Good food was not hard to come by on vacation. Each night we fixed a fabulous feast that had us moaning and groaning with full tummies. But Mmmm...mmm...was it ever so good!

Breakfast:
Lunch:
Dinner:
I don't know what was better...the food or the good company at the table.

[Disclaimer: My Mom does not normally wear a colander on her head while washing the dishes - only when she's surrounded by 5 crazy people in one beach house...and when the TV is getting poor recepetion.] Love you mom!

And of course...

Beautiful People

Amongst the photos of "stuff and scenery" at the beach, I was able to capture some great photos of some of the most important people in my life.

My Amazing Hubby
My Wonderful Parents

My Lil Bro & His Girl
And then my Dad got a hold of the camera and got these great shots of me...
Me & my Hubby...

and me, my Hubby, and my Lil' Bro...
Oh what good times and what good faces!

Lee's Loft

The beach cottage (Lee's Loft) that my parents rent every year is our nice vacation home away from home. We've stayed there for as long as I can remember and it's just so nice. I had a lot of fun capturing the little details of it this year.

This pretty little bird woke us up one morning with a pretty little tune. He was perched on the porch right outside our bedroom.Mom made these fun flags/banners out of bandanna cheater cloth. They were the perfect accessory for the porch. These are just a few of the shells that we found while combing the shores. I have plans to place them all over our house and I may even make a picture frame with the purple ones.
