Around the House Saturdays: Before & After

When we lived in our apartment, a neighbor gave the Hubby an old cabinet/dresser. For almost a year the piece just sat in our garage awaiting a purpose. Should it go in my studio? Should it be used for storage in the garage? We eventually decided that it would be a perfect dresser in our bedroom in the new house since our old dresser (a beautiful refurbished piece from my parents) was going to become the changing table in the nursery. So last Saturday I took on the process of taking it from this...

...to this....

This great piece just needed a good sanding, some primer and a few coats of a nice semi-gloss white paint...and of course some really bright curtains to conceal the shelves holding our clothes.

It's the perfect fit in our new bedroom. In fact, I don't even think our other dresser would work as well in this space. It's as if the dresser was made for this spot.

Our bedroom is now complete, which means next Saturday's "Around the House Saturdays" will be a fun tour of all of the refreshing decor that is in our bedroom. Can't wait to share it with you!

Sarah I love how you redid that dresser ITs gorgeous! I wanted to maybe steal your idea curtain wise if it works out? I don't even know if it will look good... But our new house has these old metal really loud closet doors and Patrick said he wants to get rid of them and I was thinking how well curtains would do instead of doors? You as an artist, would that look ok? Obviously the right colors and all but for closet doors? These are small closets too
