Sending Some Love Your Way

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

A Little Gnome

Back in February, our Little Man was in need of a warmer winter hat. And wanting something that not every child would have, I consulted Simple Sewing for Baby and found the most amazing little gnome hat. So grabbing some super cuddly gray fleece from my stash and some re-purposed ribbon, I put together the most adorable hat.

{this moment}

{this moment} - Inspired by SouleMama. A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

The Warmth of Snow: A Winter Time Poem

It's cold outside. It's true.
The wind makes it feel only about two.

There are drifts up to the door,
And snow boots on the floor.

More than a dusting we've received,
Just as the forecasters believed.
But while there's a chill outside.
In the warmth is where we'll hide.

Because you see,
When you're as little as he,
Inside is where you'd want to be.

Where naps are many and cuddles aren't few,
On wintery days,
This is what we like to do.

We Interrupt This Regularly Scheduled Around the House Saturdays

To bring you an update from snowy Indiana.

All day yesterday we got hit with yet another snow storm that brought 8+ inches of the pretty white stuff to our town. Right now the sun is shining making the winter wonderland even more beautiful, but it's definitely chilly out there. Which is why we're sitting cozy in the house with a fire going and fun indoor projects planned.

One of which was making pancakes for breakfast...perfect meal to warm the tummy. But, of course I had to get outside for a bit to capture some winter photos.

Jalen loves the snow. If it were up to him, he'd tromp around in it all day.

Good thing these birds are south for the winter.

Hope your wintery Saturday is warm and cozy.

Humm-dinger

Our weekend away was absolutely amazing. I don't think any of us have ever laughed as hard as we did this weekend. It was so relaxing to just get away and spend time with some really great friends. We fixed an amazing dinner on Friday night; played Cranium (probably the best game to really break the ice with new friends); wrote ridiculous songs while playing guitar (I don't play - I just sang along while everyone else played); stayed up late talking about anything and everything; and fixed a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning. Needless to say, the Edgren's have become some of our most favorite people. We're so blessed by their friendship.

Well enough blabber...here are some photos of the weekend. You can check out all of them on my Flickr page.
